Youth

Days like yesterday are some of my favorite days of all.  Sundays always rock.  Awesome church.  Unbelievable praise and worship.  Anointed preaching….and then Baptisms.  Lots of them.  A principle that Jesus taught and did Himself and it pleased God.  God was surely pleased yesterday as so many professed their faith in Jesus publicly through baptism.  We had this “demo” pool set up in our sanctuary.  I have the great honor of working there part time and was there when the “baptismal” overflowed.   It takes a long time to fill up a pool with a garden hose, but somehow the last foot went faster than expected and we had a nice “overflow” in our sanctuary.  By Sunday, no one would know.  It was perfect…Very perfect.

We finished off this perfect morning with a BBQ to support our youth camp.  Was able to get a few snaps off on this.  Pretty windy and I had on a skirt, so I had to be careful!

Senior Spokesmodel – Laura

28 06 2008

What a blessing it is to have Laura as one of my Senior Spokesmodels.  She is so gorgeous and so down to earth.  I had such a great time with her and her mom during her shoot.    I had such a hard time choosing these 5 pictures for the blog…I took so many and there are so many awesome shots.  Laura was a fun person to photograph.    We moved our shoot time up because of the prediction of storms later in the day and she braved the hot, hot day.  She seemed to stay cool looking even when the photographer was drowning!  I’m so glad we went ahead with the shoot – it was just wonderful and we survived the heat.

Laura – thanks for all your work on the shoot and your kindness.  I can’t wait to show you the rest of your pictures.

Cheer Champion

Megan is a beautiful girl who was chosen to be a Senior Spokesmodel and share her pictures and my studio information with her friends…which are many!  She is a great young lady….gorgeous, fun and caring.  I have known her for some time and taking her pictures was a real treat!  She brought her BFF, Heather, along and that was such fun for all of us.  It was a hot day, but that didn’t stop Megan from looking fab-u-lous!  Thanks Megan…more to come soon!

So, on the way to the session Natalie and David were rear-ended on the highway.  Thankfully, everyone was fine…not so sure about the car though.  But, they made it and were ready to go photo hopping.  They brought along a friend of David’s and Daniel proved to be an incredible assistant for me, plus had a great sense of humor and fun.   I was so honored to take Natalie and David’s pictures.  I had the great pleasure of being Natalie’s youth pastor since I think she was in 8th grade, which was 6 or 7 years ago.  The Lord brought her an incredible man in David and it is obvious that they are deeply in love.     So, earlier in the day, I had spotted this random field of yellow wildflowers on the side of the road in suburbia JoCo and knew I had to use it with them.  David was so sweet to carry his bride to be down the embankment and into this high field of flowers.  The shots look amazing.   We took hundreds of shots before heading to our final destination and because of the earlier accident, we were running out of time.  I figured we had maybe 30 minutes of daylight left.  We booked it over to my friend’s field and creek and I think these pictures ended up being my favorite.  It seemed like I really caught David and Natalie in some really real moments.  They danced in the field, splashed in the creek and looked spectacular against another beautiful Kansas sunset.  Thanks guys for letting me in on your love….it is special.
